The Pinoy Big Brother Housemates: The Wacky PBB Mould

We believed that the old PBB editions were authentic and are real people put in one house interacting genuinely without pretensions. Well most of them with the exception of the likes of Say Alonzo who aims stardom but failed to survived the industry and as of present time settle to make controversial tweets just to be relevant.

When ABS-CBN or the PBB production and management saw what a Melai Cantiveros charisma can do with ratings, the inkling of a scripted edition came to fruition. Melai Cantiveros was the one and only genuine cinderella story of Pinoy Big Brother.

The Scripted PBB edition didn't came like a lightning thunder, it was injected season by season. Five editions later the plan became full blown with PBB 747 and they found the perfect subject to play the role of a naive wacky girl, Maymay Entrata. The Philippines televiewers are the naivest of naives, believing in the story of a college student who can't speak english language meanwhile her fellow housemates who were 2-3 years younger can communicate a decent conversation with the halfies. Maymay Entrata was the perfect mould of the experiment fangirling (Melai did it) with lizquen and falling in love with inside the house (Melai's story was genuine and Melai was not the one who go after Jason, Jason was the main instigator and courted her.). The main problem with Maymay PBB love story was the halfies were younger than her and the halfies were fixated with another housemate. So the script needs to be followed, so that's the time we saw the feeds and editing come to play creating the housemate villains and division just to push the PBB 747 cinderella story. What did the PBB didn't realize is they created an irreparable damage to some housemates. Maymay is not really naive as the PBB production is trying to portray she has lots of experiences and misdemeanors that the ABS-CBN has covered up but no matter how they cover those mischiefs some were leak and soon to be leaked. Again who is this IGNORANT CINDERALLA STORY actually? Her schoolmates and some who knew her reacted differently as they know Maymay to be enrolled in college or does ABS-CBN trying to portray Maymay as the DUMBEST college student in the Philippine who can't converse a simple or decent english language. 

Maymay success story came from deception and there is no coming back from that story but to make a stand that it is authentic and her real past is non-existent and now she lives with the given scripts and P.R machine even after her PBB stint. Still I wish her well until the MayWard pairing is still hot, Edward Barber can cash up with it and only time will tell when this young aspiring actor will move on to another level of his career. Two years later and still no solid MOVIE/TV Serye has come to fruition. The Cinderella RomCom scripts has a time limit as they are not getting younger and new talents will come to play

Going back to Pinoy Big Brother, we first saw the PBB mould in Maymay Entrata and now just one season later we are seeing another wacky-wacky naive probinsyana mould with PBB otso edition.

Lie Reposposa is on another level of naivety, it was genuine and she is really young and we all witnessed her authentic self when she was discovered by PBB production during her interview after singing at "Tawag ng Tanghalan", yes Lie is a singer and has a talent to back-up her lack of experience with how to act with grace in public. Her naivety is fun most of the time, authentic and pure innocence. 

I believe Lyn "YEN" Quirante was the follow-up of Maymay probinsyana wacky-wacky character as Lie didn't audition and was just discovered in showtime. Let us watch her play the script as she has studied it for a quiet sometime now. What will be Yen Quirante's cinderella story? Will it be successful as Maymay Entrata? 

Oh we should stop comparing it to Melai Cantiveros, Maymay is an on-screen scripted cinderella story and the upcoming housemates. Meanwhile, Melai Cantiveros is and still a fairytale unfolding with two lovely and bubbly offsprings.
